4. The Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program (REAP) is a
multi-year educational initiative designed to help regions accelerate
economic development and job creation through thoughtfully designed
and effectively enhanced innovation-based entrepreneurial ecosystems.
5. iVentures10 is a new kind of intern program for computer science students with a great
idea for a software or web based start-up company. During the 10 week program, student
teams will develop their idea into a working prototype and lay the groundwork to launch
their start-up.
6. The Portland Incubator Experiment (PIE) is a partnership among leading brands,
technology innovators, and Wieden+Kennedy-the largest privately held advertising and
communications company in the world. It serves as a hub for community,
entrepreneurship, and creative thinking.
Winning applicants receive $18,000 and office space to spend three months with us in
beautiful Portland, Oregon. Promising co-founders will learn from our startups-in-
residence, successful alumni, Wieden+Kennedy, and its mentor network.

corporations and universities, specializing in research and development for the 50+
market. Located at the University of Cincinnati and serving a wide variety of corporations,

model of startup funding. Twice a year it
invest a small amount of money (average
$18k) in a large number of startups (most

The startups move to Silicon Valley for 3
months, where they develop ideas and
refine pitches to investors.
Each cycle culminates in Demo Day,
when the startups present to a large
audience of investors.

program bringing together 12 of the brightest student entrepreneurs to work in New York
City for the Summer of 2011. Dubbed the GE-OMD Incubator, the objective is to create a

digital, media and marketing ideas to life.

15. Startup Weekend organizes 54-hour weekend events during which groups of developers,
business managers, startup enthusiasts, marketing gurus, graphic artists and more pitch
ideas for new startup companies, form teams around those ideas, and work to develop a
working prototype, demo, and/or presentation by Sunday evening.
In the past 3 years, Startup Weekend has organized 280 events in 120 cities / 35 countries.
16. A program for young, talented grads to spend 2 years in the trenches
of a start-up with the goal that these graduates will become socialized
and mobilized as entrepreneurs moving forward.

startup program each year.
18. WUSTL faculty created the MasterCard Middle School Math Institute to address the need
for system-wide professional development. The Mastercard Institute is a unique
combination of rigorous graduate level coursework and flexible in-service professional
development that leads to a 15-credit graduate certificate in education. The program may
be customized for districts seeking system-wide teacher professional development based
on district frameworks or curriculum.
19. The Online High School is a fully accredited, diploma granting, online independent school
situated at Stanford University. Serving grades 7-12, the OHS prepares students from
around the world for success both in life and in their future intellectual pursuits.
