In this paper we present STS (South Tyrol Suggests), a context-aware mobile recommender system for places of interest (POIs) that integrates some innovative components, including: a personality questionnaire, i.e., a brief and entertaining questionnaire used by the system to learn users’ personality; an active learning module that acquires ratings-in-context for POIs that users are likely to have experienced; and a matrix factorization based recommendation module that leverages the personality information and several contextual factors in order to generate more relevant recommendations. Adopting a system oriented perspective, we describe the assessment of the combination of the implemented components. We focus on usability aspects and report the end-user assessment of STS. It was obtained from a controlled live user study as well as from the log data produced by a larger sample of users that have freely downloaded and tried STS through Google Play Store. The result of the assessment showed that the overall usability of the system falls between “good” and “excellent”, it helped us to identify potential problems and it provided valuable indications for future system improvement.

The most important characteristics in mobile wireless networks is the topology dynamics and the network topology changes over time, the routing problem (SPRP) in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) turns out to be a dynamic optimization problem[13], the hybrid immigrants multiple-objective genetic algorithm (HIMOGAs) in the real- world are dynamic in nature, that has objective functions, constraints, and parameters, the dynamic optimization problems (DOPs) are a big challenges to evolutionary multi-objective, since any environmental change may affect the objective vector, constraints, and parameters, HIMOGA for the optimization goal is to track the moving of parameters and get a sequence of approximations solutions over time. The quantity of services (QoS) is supporting guarantee for all data traffic and getting the maximizing utilization for network, the QoS based on multicast routing offers significant challenges, and increases to use an efficient multicast routing protocol that will be able to check multicast routing and satisfying QoS constraints, The author propose to use HIMOGAs and SP algorithm to solve multicast problem that produces new generation wireless networks with immigrants schema to get high-quality solutions after each change and satisfying all objectives.

In this paper we have studied downlink packet scheduling algorithms proposed for LTE cellular networks. The study emphasize on three most promising scheduling algorithms such as: FLS, EXP rule and LOG rule. The performance of these three algorithms is conducted over video traffic in a vehicular environment using LTE-Sim simulator. The simulation was setup with varying number of users from 10 - 60 in fixed bounded regions of 1 km radius. The main goal this study is to provide results that will help in the design process of packet scheduler for LTE cellular networks, aiming to get better overall performance users. Simulation results show that, the FLS scheme outperforms in terms of average system throughput, average packet delay, PLR; and with a satisfactory level of fairness index.

In this article, we present a new multistage architecture oriented to real-time complex processing applications. Given a set of rules, this proposed architecture allows the using of different communication links (point to point link, hardware router…) to connect unlimited number of parallel computing elements (software processors) to follow the increasing complexity of algorithms. In particular, this work brings out a parallel implementation of multihypothesis approach for road recognition application on the proposed Multiprocessor Systemon-Chip (MP-SoC) architecture. This algorithm is usually the main part of the lane keeping applications. Experimental results using images of a real road scene are presented. Using a low cost FPGA-based System-on-Chip, our hardware architecture is able to detect and recognize the roadsides in a time limit of 60 mSec. Moreover, we demonstrate that our multistage architecture may be used to achieve good speed-up in solving automotive applications.

This paper presents a web service which delivers personalized audio information. The personalization process is automated and decentralized. The metadata which support personalization are separated in two categories: the metadata describing user preferences stored at each user and the resource adaptation metadata stored at the web service host. The multimedia models MPEG-21 and MPEG-7 are used to describe metadata information and the Web Ontology Language (OWL) to produce and manipulate ontological descriptions. SPARQL is used for querying the OWL ontologies. The MPEG Query Format (MPQF) is also used, providing a wellknown framework for applying queries to the metadata and to the ontologies.

Abstract— Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) brain tumor image classification is a difficult task due to the variance and complexity of tumors. This paper presents an efficient techniques for the classification of the magnetic resonance brain images. In this work we are taking MR images as input; MRI which is directed into internal cavity of brain and gives the complete image of the brain. The proposed technique consists of two stages.In the first stage, discrete wavelet transform is used for dimensionality reduction and feature extraction.In the second stage, classification is performed using the probabilistic neural network. The classifier have been used to classify real MR images as benign (non-cancerous) and Malignant (cancerous). Probabilistic neural network (PNN) with image and data processing technique is employed to implement an automated brain tumor classification. The use of artificial intelligent technique has shown great potential in this field. Index Terms— Brain tumors, Feature extraction,Classification, MRI, Probabilistic neural network, Dimensionality reduction, Discrete wavelet transform.
