WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY
TRANSDUCER????
•A transducer is a device that converts
one form of energy to another.
• While the term transducer commonly
implies the use of a sensor/detector, any
device which converts energy can be
considered a transducer. Transducers are
widely used in measuring instruments.
WHAT IS INDUCTIVE
TRANSDUCER?????
In inductive transducer, magnetic
characteristics of an electric circuit
changes due to motion of object
A simple type of displacement sensor is the
variable inductance type wherein the
variation of inductance as a function of
displacement is achieved either by variation
in mutual inductance or self inductance
SELF         NON-SELF
GENERATING   GENERATING
:

•A voltage signal is generated in the
transducer, because of relative motion of the
conductor and a magnetic field.

  EXAMPLE: 1. ELECTRODYNAMIC
          2. ELECTROMAGNETIC
          3. EDDY CURRENT TYPE ,etc.
:
Also called as external power source of
transducers, in which an external source is
needed to energise coils, the inductance of
which would change due to motion of the
object.
      1. LVDT type
      2. Air gap type
      3. Attachment type inductance transducer, etc.
Where,
     f=excitation signal frequency
     Ip=primary current
     Np=nos of turns in primary
     Ns=nos of turns in secondary
     b= width of primary coil
     w= width of secondary coil
     x= core displacement
     r0= outer radius of the coil
     ri = inner radius of the coil
