2. The Swedish Dewey project
• Ended in 2011
• One goal: to develop tools for joint search and
navigation of material with SAB codes and material
with DDC numbers
• A search tool was developed by Pansoft in spring 2012

4. LIBRIS – the union catalog
• Most records have classification codes
SAB - 2010 ; DDC 2011-
• The national subject heading system Svenska
ämnesord was created in 2002
• Therefore classification codes are important for
retrieval
• In LIBRIS all records with SAB codes have been
assigned DDC codes via a conversion table (and vice
versa)

8. WebDeweySearch
The Swedish WebDewey is a mixed model. All Dewey
numbers are not translated into Swedish.
WebDeweySearch is built upon the Swedish WebDewey
Linked to LIBRIS – Swedish union catalog

Shows number of records in LIBRIS for exact match and
for subordinated classes and links to the catalog.
