prioritise community management
over everything else, give clear goals

Social media informs your target
audience about product benefits. It
builds desire. It has massive reach. It
can drive traffic to specific pages on
your site. Add value and track traffic.
Optimise landing pages. Build email
lists. Social media is part of the

You want your time to be effective
and efficient. Yet so many people
don’t take the time to learn how to
use the tools. The benefits are huge
so why wouldn’t you want to
capture them. Buy a book, watch
some YouTube videos, read a blog,
get some training.

Don’t track results effectively
Every digital activity has the
opportunity to be measured. Track
how many people click your links via
short URL tools like bit.ly and see
the amount of traffic it is bringing to
your site using Google Analytics.

Most likely they don’t. Consider
their role. How will the social

is met then it will create success and

Don’t think email doesn’t work. If
yours don’t it means you are
sending out bad emails to people
who don’t want to read them. Build
a strong database off the back of
