2. Places to visit Buenos Aires Buenos Aires is one of the world’s biggest cities, the most elegant and active in South America. With a modern and dynamic activity, it has managed to preserve old traditions and attractive corners. Visitors feel fascinated about its environment, and specially because it is a city with a lot of theatres, cinemas and shopping, so everywhere you go you will be amazed. There are some specific places we recommend to visit in Buenos Aires. These are: X Click on the picture to see more information about it.

3. Cabildo It was the main building in the city during the colony since 1580 until 1821. The building has suffered a lot of changes but it is still the historical reference where the country gave the first step to reach the independence in 1816. Its musseum keeps furniture and a lot of daily elements and clothes from that age. Places to visit X Back to Buenos Aires

4. Government’s house (also called the Pink House) Since 1862 it is the building where the president works. The balcony is a symbol for our country because there Perón and Evita used to appear to talk to the citizens. Places to visit X Back to Buenos Aires

5. Obelisco Is the visual symbol of Buenos Aires. It is located in the middle of 9 de Julio avenue where Corrientes avenue cross it. Places to visit X Back to Buenos Aires

6. La Boca These neighborhood grew near the old port of Buenos Aires in the middle of the XIX century. Here settled a lot of immigrants most of them Italians, who gave a particular look to this place. The photograph show us Caminito, which is a pedestrian street which works like an outdoor musseum. A famous painter, Quinquela Martín suggested the name “Caminito” in honor of the author of the tango called caminito. Places to visit X Back to Buenos Aires

7. Corrientes Avenue It is famous for all the theatres and cinemas that we can find along this avenue as well as restaurants and shops. We used to say that Corrientes avenue “never sleeps”. Places to visit X Back to Buenos Aires

8. The Colon Theatre It is one of the biggest opera theatre of the world. Was built in 1908. It has a luxurious decoration and it is said that it has the best acoustic in the world. Places to visit X Back to Buenos Aires

9. The national Congress Was built in 1906. It has three floors where the deputation's camera and the senators work. Opposite the congress we can see the congress park. Places to visit X Back to Buenos Aires

10. Puerto Madero It is located near Plaza de Mayo where the old port of Buenos Aires used to work. The four docks where renewed and nowadays it is one of the most luxurious neighborhood in Buenos Aires. In this place used to disembark the immigrants who arrived to our country at the end of the 1800s. Nowadays we can find modern offices buildings, restaurants and hotels. 11. El Viejo Almacén Located in a traditional neighborhood in the south of the city called San Telmo. El Viejo Almacén is a place where people dance tango, the local dancing. In San Telmo we can find houses built during the colony and musseum and antique shops. Places to visit X Back to Buenos Aires

12. Patagonia comprises the provinces of Tierra del Fuego, Santa Cruz, Chubut, Río Negro, Neuquén and La Pampa. The Andes mountain range shows its beauty in the Patagonian provinces. On top of the mountains, nature overflows with granite peaks and ice fields spreading their glacier tongues into lakes of unsurpassable beauty. The world’s most important southern elephant seal continental colony is located in peninsula de Valdes. Every year, southern right whales come to Nuevo and San José gulfs to breed. Patagonian hares, “ñandúes” and “guanacos” run about the steppes, and the largest colony of Magellan penguins in the world is located in Punta Tombo. 13. The litoral comprises the provinces of Entre Ríos, Santa Fé, Chaco, Formosa, Corrientes and Misiones. This is a region of large rivers, humid tropics, red earth, magnificent forest, a virgin forest full of huge trees and extraordinary flora and fauna. Great waters overflowing into one of the world’s wonders: the Iguazú falls. A scenery of exuberant beauty spreading along the iguazú National Park, Río Pilcomayo National Park, El Palmar National Park, Esteros del Iberá or the Chaco plains. apotheosis of Nature, where the Jesuit ruins, declared World Heritage by the UNESCO, are a vivid testimony of the Society of Jesus’ fruitful work. 14. The north comprises the provinces of Catamarca, Tucumán, Santiago del Estero, Salta and Jujuy. Northern provinces feature traces of pre-Columbian cultures, mingled with ruins of natives’ villages, as well as forts and constructions dating back to time of the conquest and colonization. In the high plateau of the Puna, a land full of mountain ranges, steep mountain paths, and gorges. Villages have been built in the small valleys. 15. Cuyo comprises the provinces of Mendoza, San Juan, La Rioja and San Luis. Is the region of the high peaks, the snow-covering volcanoes, and the large wilderness spreading from the Andes mountain range and foothills to the steppe. Valle de la Luna and the Tampalaya River Canyon are amazing places to visit in this area. Pink flamingos, Andean ducks, “vicuñas” and “guanacos” cohabit freely in parks and natural reserves, while condors fly over the area. The Aconcagua (6959 mts) is the highest peak in the western hemisphere, and its steep slopes are renown and respected by mountain climbers from all over the world. Cuyo Puente del Inca, Mendoza. 16. Córdoba is one of the most important economic centers in the country. It is both cultural and tourist-like destination, a traditional and modern city, with and industrialized as well as a home-made production. A hilly landscape and favorable weather conditions are distinctive in Córdoba. Little towns, historical antiques and cave paintings are found in a pleasant valley landscape, high plains and gorges. 18. La Lucila La Lucila is a town in Buenos Aires, Argentina. La Lucila is the smallest neighborhood in Vicente Lopez, its surface is of 1,60 km2. It has plenty of lime trees (“tilo” called in spanish) throughout the streets. There is a small shopping mall along three blocks, besides it is the branch Mitre that goes from Retiro to Tigre. It is a calm and quiet neighborhood. X
