2. The Media Specialist Committee
The committee is aware that school filters prevents us from using
Glogster an online poster making presentation tool at school. Mrs.
Neville and I both teachers at Carver Middle school wanted to write to
you to share with you how this tool would benefit both students and
teachers. We chose to use Glogster to present our request and
demonstrate how this tool would ensure engaged learning but at the
same time, keep our children safe, which we realize is your main goal.
3. The National Educational Technology Standards for Students expect
students to interact, collaborate, and publish with peers, experts, or others
employing a variety of digital environments and media. We believe that
Glogter is one such tool that would allow for sharing and collaborating. It
puts the power of learning and ability to create in the hands of our students
4. Gail Lovely, an education technology consultant and
speaker at the FETC (Florida Educational Technology
Conference 2009, developed a top 10 list of go-to
technology tools to help inspire young students and
empower under-funded teachers. Glogster features in
that top ten tools to infuse enthusiasm in leaning.
5. We realize that student’s safety is a high priority for the committee. We
want to assure the committee that Glogster which has a education
sector that allow teachers to register and enroll students. Teachers
have complete control over any student accounts. Students are linked
to the teachers account. The following video hopefully will clear any
concerns you make have with regards to student’s safety.
