TIP: MANAGING TRANSITIONS
Do you know what it takes to successfully transition? If you’re forced to make one, or you have the time to plan a

transition there are a few steps you should follow to overcome transition or make smoother transitions:

Build a career contact network

        Business relationships are vital to your efforts, connect with any individual and call on them when needed. Studies

show that 75% of jobs are found through networking.

Make a dynamic presentation

        Your résumé and self presentation must show you at your highest level of effectiveness. Your résumé speaks for

you before you get an opportunity to do so in must cases – be sure that what it says is an excellent representation of who

you are and what you bring to the table.

Polish your interviewing and negotiating skills

        Effective verbal skills can convert opportunities into job offers. Practice, Practice, Practice.

Take a personal inventory

        Identify past successes, current strengths, overall work style and personal preferences.

Refine your career objective

        It must be clear, focused and realistic-based firmly on your strengths and goals.

Be through and persistent

        Write effective letters conduct productive meetings and follow-up on all of your opportunities. Your commitment to

        implementing the plan will ensure a successful outcome.



You must understand your own strengths and your objectives in order to establish a game plan that will result in not just

finding another job, but having a deeper understanding of yourself and your overall career objectives. Learn how to
