Hasthi is a system management framework that allows users to define management logic through rules. It addresses the challenge of enforcing user-defined logic that requires a global view of the system on large-scale distributed systems. Hasthi scales through a distributed manager cloud architecture, a meta-model that provides a summarized global state view, and prioritizing asynchronous and decentralized control. Experiments showed Hasthi could scale to manage over 100,000 resources and 1,000 managers through this approach.
