- Ok…So, you landed a job as a school media specialist. Prior to this, you may have worked as a librarian elsewhere, as a classroom teacher, or in a completely-unrelated field. You may have completed your graduate coursework , internship, and masters degree; OR you may have been hired on a provisional contract – “thrown to the wolves” as it were! Some of you continue to work in the same school that you have been employed at in other positions, while others are in completely new schools, districts, even states. Whatever situation you find yourself in, I can bet you’ve said to yourself on at least one occasion, “I wish someone had told me about that before I got the job!” Well, they didn’t , so we’re hear to try to cover the things you need to know but didn’t even know you needed to know!
