● Why learn Math in 2014? Focus on PROCESSES.
○ Greater focus on fewer topics
○ Coherence: thinking across topics
● People hate it for political reasons
○ Conservative: federally mandated, so it’s bad.
○ Liberal: it’s tied to testing, so it’s bad.
● Not only technology, but inquiry, research, problem-solve, etc.
● Local reasoning makes it easier to code.
