Start with an egg shape.


Draw a line dividing the egg in half
horizontally and vertically.


Draw an imaginary eye where the
dotted lines meet.


Draw two more eyes around the center
eye on the dotted line.


Measure the length of one eye, then make a mark on
the vertical line that is one eye-length.

(You can erase the center eye now!)

Draw three circles on the line you drew earlier.

(You can erase the center eye now!)

Draw a curved line that will be the bridge of your nose.


Draw vertical lines down from each pupil to see how
wide your mouth will be.


Draw the line where your lips meet. This line might be
straight, wavy, or curved!


Draw the bottom lip. Is it thick or thin?


Draw the top lip. What shape does the top
of the lip make?


Add eyebrows using short, diagonal lines! Does the
angle of the eyebrows change the way the face looks?


Draw horizontal lines from the eyebrows and the base
of the nose.


These lines show you where to place the ears!


Draw lines the swoop outward to form the neck and
shoulders. Make sure your neck is wider than your mouth!


Look at the outline of the hair. Where does it overlap on the
forehead? Draw the shapes you see.


Now you can erase all the dotted lines and begin to add
texture and details!
