Carbon dioxide emissions contribute to global warming, so industries aim to reduce their carbon footprint by decreasing food miles, the distance food travels from farm to plate. The carbon cycle describes how carbon is exchanged between the atmosphere, ocean, living things and non-living things through various natural processes.
