Deze beleidsnotitie is een vervolg op de Beleidsnotitie Centrale Medische Bibliotheek 2005-2010. De beleidsnotitie beoogt de Raad van Bestuur UMCG en de Bibliotheekcommissie UMCG op de hoogte te brengen van de gang van zaken in de CMB en de te verwachten ontwikkelingen op bibliotheekgebied in de komende jaren. De inhoud van de notitie is mede bepaald door de discussies in en resultaten van een aantal klankbordgroepen (Bibliotheek RUG-breed, waaronder een UMCG-CMB-groep) die de laatste maanden van 2010 bijeen is geweest. De resultaten van de klankbordgroepen zijn ook verwerkt in het concept Visiedocument Bibliotheek RUG 2020 ‘Bibliotheek in Beweging’ (zie Kaders).
