1. Who would be the
audience for your media
product?
2. The audience of my magazine would be both male and
female, this is why I have used both males and females as
artists for my magazine. Another way I have shown that
my magazine is for both male and female through the
conventions is the colour and font of my text. The font
throughout the magazine is simple yet bold, it isn’t floaty
or curly which would be considered girly or jagged and
messy which would be considered boy like. The colours I
used are mainly reds, yellows, blacks and blues and these
are all colours you can associate with both male and
female.
The chosen colours also were correct for my target
audience as my target audience is ages 16-30 and these
are bright, fun colours that people of those ages like and
they represent fun which is why the magazine is aimed at
a younger audience.
3. One criticism I got from my target audience and that I agree with is that
because my magazine is for both male and female I should’ve put more
pictures of males in my magazine since I only used 2 of the same band
in small images on my front cover and contents as seen here.
My magazine is based on artists such as Bombay Bicycle Club,
Daughter, Lana Del Rey and more, this is who my original images
represent. These are artists whose fans are mainly between the ages of
16-30 which is the ages of my target audience.
