6. I analyzed the data a bit
• I counted how many fans have added each band
to custom lineup at 9PM EST on the day the lineup
was announced (April 11)
• Compared "Poster rank" to “fan rank" based on
how many fans added band to custom lineup
9. Let’s look at how the size and
order of bands name would be
if the “fan likes” would decide
the look of the poster
• RED: Fan rank much lower than initial rank
• Green: Fan rank much higher than initial rank
• Underline: The most extreme change

11. Takeaways
• Interesting to know if Lollapalooza actually uses this kind of
data to decide on stages and timing of acts
• Will a “small band” with a huge number of custom lineups get a
bigger stage?
• Would two bands not play at the same time if disproportional
number of fans include both bands on their custom lineup?
• Lollapalooza seems to do a good job on the headliners
• Is the Black Sabbath loss (-18) based on demographics (and age) of
fans rather than actuall lack of fans?
• “Mid range” bands are more difficult to forecast
• ...young and touring bands are more likely to move up than down
• Will be interesting to see how this changes the next months
• ...and I should update it then
