2. Principais novidades do CAT3D no último ano.
• “Add ROIs” now can add up to 8 ROIs to create a new one. Previous version added only 2 ROIs.
• “Add ROIs” remove unnecessary segments on overlapped regions that were retained in previous versions.
• The maximum number of ROI segments increased from 2048 to 8192.
• “ROI Info” now has a faster method for computing volumes of complex ROIs. At the end of “ROI Info” the number
of used and free segments is presented.
• Clean image accepts double click to define points inside tissue. This is useful for cases more than one connected
tissue areas.
• Clean image allows definition of CT Field Of View (FOV) to help cleaning in cases were tissue is trimmed by CT
FOV.
• Auto ROI now has a tool bar.
• Interactive tool for image registration without POIs. When CAT3D starts a registration/fusion without POIs the
user is asked if interactive guided is needed. With this tool the user creates links between points in both image
sets. At the end (after DONE) CAT3D uses those linked points as initial approximation for Mutual Information
Maximization.
• Mouse wheel acting as Page-Up and Page-Down on planning and mosaic window.
• New parameter to control Siemens wedge codes when exported to DicomRT-Plan. The last letter of the code
could be “S”, “M” or “ “ (space). The three options are:

4. Novidades na versão CAT3D de 64 bits. Ainda em testes.
• Increased vertical resolution for the internal density cube.
• Maximum Pencil beam depth increased to 1024 mm in 64 bits version. In 32 bits
version was limited to 600 mm of depth.
• Additional improvement on performance for some complex cases of ADD ROIs.
• Export to LANTIS RTP-link now handles correctly LINACs without MLC.
• Improved performance when creating a NEW Plan in a folder with thousands of
image files.
• The NEW Plan now accepts folders with up to 3200 different image sequences,
previous were 1024.
• The NEW Plan now sorts image sequence by Patient Name, previous was by file
name.
• CAT3D now checks the FOV of the DRR and compares it with size of the ROI(s)
for use in Auto-Shield. If the FOV is small for the ROI, CAT3D emits a warning.
• Removed error in DVH when the user enters DVH being in dose mode instead of
percent mode.
• In Auto Shield the user can exit the ROI selection by pressing ESC.

5. Vantagens observadas na versão de 64 bits.
• Cálculos com Pencil Beam ficam entre 4% e 25% mais rápidos que a versão de 32
bits. Este resultado depende do tipo de CPU e do tipo de plano.
• Cálculos com Collapsed Cones Convolution/Superposition ficaram entre 15% e
28% mais rápidos que o código de 32 bits.
• Maior resolução da densidade do tecido, pois aumentou a resolução da matriz
de densidades eletrônicas.
• Melhor qualidade das reconstruções 3D e das DRR, pelo motivo anterior.
• A complexidade dos planos para otimizar IMRT agora apenas enfrenta o limite
da memória instalada. Antes o limite era criado pelo máximo de espaço de
endereços do 32 bits (address space limit), o que era menor que 4 GB.

6. Adquirimos um Certificado Digital para assinatura de código da “Comodo”
(www.comodo.com). Doravante os códigos criados pela MEVIS terão a garantia de
autenticidade do certificador internacional Comodo, adicionado pela ferramenta
“SignTool” de Microsoft. Isto deve diminuir os falsos positivos de alguns antivírus,
mas não é a solução universal do problema.
Ainda recomendamos o uso exclusivo do NOD32 (de Eset) com nossos produtos.
