Brown Eyes
In class we watched a video on how discrimination hurts everyone, but the way it was
demonstrated was very different. A woman decided that she would make the discrimination on
how people with brown eyes are better than people with blue eyes. She was very strict and
scolding and did not hold back on making any sly remarks, smirks, or stern explanation on why a
student was wrong. I enjoyed this experiment, but no way would I want to be taught it, for the
simple fact that I might forget how it was an experiment and let everything she said get to me.
Knowing my luck, if I did do that experiment, it would take place on a day I was very stressed
and I would bawl like a baby on the smallest thing she would state. This experiment would be
very helpful for people to learn how discrimination works and how it affects them. The best way
to show people how much discrimination hurts is by those people being discriminated against
themselves. This fact will teach them how they need to always think before they speak
regardless. Many members of newer generations do not understand this concept or do not know
how to respect people. These children are in dire need of an experiment like this to show what is
wrong and hurtful that so many people do every day to others.
