This document introduces The Teachers Guild, a collaboration between IDEO's Design for Learning Studio and Riverdale Country School's Delta Group. The Guild aims to bring together a global network of teachers to share insights, design solutions, and innovate education. Teachers are encouraged to use design thinking to tackle questions about curriculum, spaces, processes, systems, and more. The document describes an upcoming design sprint at SXSWedu where teachers will work in teams to discover, ideate, evolve, and select ideas to address a collaboration question suggested by other teachers. The goal is for teachers to build on each other's ideas and design new solutions to amaze students and transform education.
5. What if teachers had the
opportunity to collaborate
beyond school walls?
What if we could bring
together a global network
of teachers to share
insights and design for the
future of education?
8. The Teachers Guild is run by by IDEO’s Design for Learning Studio
and Riverdale Country School’s Delta Group.
We are a team of educators and designers who are inspired by
teachers across the globe who innovate every day.
9. Design New Solutions Together
Use the design thinking process to tackle your biggest questions.
Form teams, make each other’s ideas better, select favorites, and share your stories.
Get curious and go beyond what you know. These are not your own ideas yet! So,
post inspirations by talking to students and gathering solutions outside education.
How might we as teachers better connect and communicate with our school
communities.

From Teachers
CURRICULUM
SPACES
PROCESSES AND TOOLS
SYSTEMS
How might we develop students to be active seekers of knowledge in subjects that they have little
knowledge of?
How might we help children from disadvantaged backgrounds increase their vocabulary?
How might we create a comfortable space that meets the many needs my students have throughout
the day?
How might we create an exciting & effective space for teachers to collaborate?
How might we engage parents as an integrated part of their students’ learning?
How might we recruit the best teachers to our school?
How might we re-envision arrival and departure procedures at our school?
How might we track the development of students’ character traits over time to help shape our school
philosophy more intentionally?
How might we connect more with our neighborhood community?
