The proposed project preserves the typology and lan-
guage of the original building, by eliminating the added
part on the north side that alters the symmetry of the plan
and by expanding the building in the free space of the
plot with the same height and by juxtaposing it in vol-
ume.

4. NEW BUILDING FOR THE GOVERNMENT PAVILLION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MALAGA
The surrounding, the dimensions of the site, the scale of the building
and the urban conditions have led the project towards a low, singular
and emblematic building. The design of the new building takes ad-
vantage of the triangular shape of the site. Both the government build-
ing and the auditorium are confined in a consolidated trapezoid piece,
that it is only interrupted by the central square, which grants functional
independence to both buildings. The square is the arrival point, the
gravity center of both buildings, a space of spreading and meeting that
generates an axis of circulation north to south.
