It was the beginning of the CALL (Computer Asssisted Language Learning) programmes. The First Computer Assisted Programme ; it is a ny computarized system that provides instructions and feedback to students. They used digital files transferred via CD-ROMS. ITS (Intelligent Tutoring System) became available IRC (Internet Relay Chat) was invented. It allowed people to have real-time conversations either one-on-one or in a chat room setting IRC contribute to the usage of telecommunication in Education. It was later replaced by INSTANT MESSAGING COMMUNICATIVE CALL

ARPANET ended and the World Wide Web started. The creator was Tim Bernes Lee. The University of Phoenix opened its E-DOORS , becoming the first university to offer online bachelor's and master's degrees. ,[object Object],Students participated in discussions, projects and lectures entirely through the computer. Jones International University was founded, becoming the first fully online university with accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission In 1999, Jones International became the first online university to receive full accreditation. CMS (Course Management Systems) such as Blackboard and WebCT allowed every college to offer Online courses .
