Snap is a fully integrated survey software solution that allows you to: Design and publish your questionnaires Collect and analyze the replies in the form of tables, charts, maps, lists and statistics. Snap has a mixed mode philosophy in terms of collecting responses. It supports web and email surveys, paper surveys, (which can be keyed in or scanned); phone surveys, as well as mobile interviewing solutions for PDA’s, laptops, Tablet PC’s or Kiosks. Snap also supports the simultaneous development of multi-lingual surveys. Research and Development is a top priority at Snap – we listen to our users as to new features and we regularly produce new versions of the software that are available for download from our website. Finally, Snap is an open system. You can link it with any of the Microsoft office products, as well as SQL databases or even advanced statistical analysis programs such as SPSS.
This is an example of a multi-column Web survey created with Snap. It includes images, drop-down boxes, randomized questions, as well as a progress bar to indicate to the respondent how much of the questionnaire they’ve completed.
Snap enables you to create questionnaires in any number of language variations, including both European and Asian language sets. Snap will automatically handle both left-to-right and right-to left chararacter sets. Snap has been designed to make language translation easy… Where possible, Snap will reference its own Question libraries to locate phrases and words that might be required in a translation. Snap’s internal structure is such that copies of questionnaires can be emailed to Translation Service Companies for conversion into any number of languages.
A visually attractive questionnaire will undoubtedly improve response rates. Colours and images can help, but Snap’s new controls are both easy to set up and easy to use. A number of slider controls are already supplied with Snap, and these can be modified or enhanced as necessary. For those questions that require a particular format to be used, such as a date or a time, Snap has a selection of specialist keyboards that can be attached to the survey.
Maps are often a simpler and more visual way of selecting an answer to a question. It’s not just cartographical maps that can be used, it could be a diagram of a human body or animal, a stylised drawing of a vehicle or even a photographical image. Snap provides numerous map controls, but you can also import your own images which can then be set up to work with the questionnaire.
Today’s internet provides researchers with an opportunity to carry out sophisticated surveys, reaching huge sample audiences. Snap WebHost is our online tool to provide you with: Hosting Automatic scheduling of email invitations and reminders. , Quota controls to ensure that only respondents with the right demographics are interviewed. A save-and-reload facility so that an interview can be restarted at a later date, and from any PC, not just the one that started the survey. Triggers and alerts can be pre-programmed so that any responses “outside the norm” can be identified and appropriate action taken. Real-time analysis.
Snap WebHost allows you to manage any number of surveys concurrently. The questionnaires themselves are designed on the desktop and these are then uploaded to Snap WebHost where all of the operational aspects are managed – scheduling of the panel invites, setting dates for reminders, as well as setting quota controls. As your questionnaires are completed, colleagues and clients can view real-time results.
Snap WebHost can be made available to you in one of two ways: 1. Either as a service via our dedicated servers at Rackspace, or… 2. Installed on a server under your own control. Here’s a visual representation of Snap WebHost:. The Researcher first designs the questionnaire on the desktop, then uploads, and is responsible for setting up and managing the panel of respondents. The stakeholder (who can be a colleague or a client) can log in at any time to either check the progress of the survey or monitor the results. The Respondents on the panel will each receive the invite to complete the questionnaire. All the replies are held on Snap Webhost so nothing can get lost.
Snap’s Mobile Interviewer solution is fully functional, versatile and easy to use. You can use any combination of PDA’s, Laptops, Tablet PC’s and Kiosks for your offline field surveys.
Paper questionnaires are still important for those hard to reach groups of people.Snap provides you with all the tools to produce attractive and easy to complete questionnaires. You have control the branding by adding in corporate colours and images. You can choose between portrait and landscape and Snap will automatically reformat the layout making optimum use of the space available. Snap allows you to highlight areas of the questionnaire, by adding borders and background colours.
For the right survey, Snap’s Scanning option is a must….. It provides optical mark, optical character and intelligent character recognition. Snap will recognize… check box replies numbers carefully hand-written text. Snap scanning handles single and double-sided surveys, as well as booklets.. Snap will automatically distinguish between valid marks and cross-outs, only selecting the valid marks and ignoring the cross-outs.
Snap’s analytical capability is among the best in the industry. The Topline Analysis report is unique to Snap. It summarizes your results in a copy of the complete questionnaire, showing totals and percentages. Snap provides you with dozens of styles to create cross tabs, frequencies, grids, barcharts and pie-charts. You can also create your own in-house styles. Any comments in your questionnaire can be viewed as a list report. Snap allows you to look at descriptive or multivariant statistics, such as Cluster and Factor Analysis.
Cross tabs are easy to create simply by dragging a question onto the table. You can include both totals and percentages, and you can present multiple questions on the same table. Snap gives you total control over the formatting of the table, including colors and fonts. Should you wish to, you can include descriptive stats such as mean scores, t-tests and standard deviation.
Charts are just as easy to create as tables. Use the in-built Chart Wizard to create 2 or 3-D charts, or choose from one of the 50 standard layouts that we provide. Snap allows you to customise your background images, colors, title, the footnote and legend. Y ou can even rotate the chart image for presentation purposes if you wish.
Snap can provide you with a report of your open-ended comments. You can cross-reference these with any other questions in the survey. These lists can then be printed, distributed electronically, or exported to Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
For those of you that need more statistical analysis, here’s a list of some of the descriptive statistics available to you…. All of the standard measures of central tendency, spread and distribution are available and you can select just those tests that are required for your survey.
It’s easy to enhance Word and PowerPoint presentations with tables and charts created in Snap, simply by copy and pasting.
It's very easy to link Snap results with other software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access as well as advanced statistical packages such as SPSS. You can distribute your tables and charts in a dozen different electronic formats including PDF and HTML. Snap data can be read directly from, or written directly to, Microsoft Access and Excel or to any SQL database such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server. However, you don’t need an elaborate database infrastructure to use Snap…. It stores all of its survey data in flat-ASCII files within your Windows folder. Snap’s data can be imported and exported into other software tools, using: . CSV Tab-separated. Triple-S.
