Report on ETRC Activity in September 2013
The new academic year started on September 2nd
2012. ETRC, keeping the structure of the previous years,
planned and organized 4 seminars for school teachers of English, a seminar for university lecturers, a Movie
Session and 3 meeting with the students eager to practice their speaking skills in FACE club as well as hosted 2
webinars.
On the 2nd
of September there
was organized an open house
were everyone interested in
ETRC activity could find out
details and events planned for
2013-2014 academic year.
The training sessions for teachers
were opened by Tatiana Casian, e-teacher alumna. She presented activities that would help teachers to create
a classroom community on the 5th
of September. Then Crisitna Cernei, O. Ghibu lyceum, shared 10 easy usable
brain breakers within teaching English as a FL on the 12th
of September. On the 19th
and 26th
September
Liliana Nederita from Calinescu lyceum e-teacher alumna presented useful web resources in language
learning. In average every
seminar for school
teachers was attended by
13 people. University
teachers had a session on
the 18th
of September. It
was presented by Daniela
Munca-Aftenev and it
was attended by 4 participants, topic being “Real English: authentic EFL resource.”
The Friday discussion club was every week facilitated by a native speaker: Aften Blackwell, Peace Corps.
Volunteer, Michael Watts, Peace Corps. Volunteer, Sara Test, US Embassy representative. Topics of discussion
were: South Carolina, Maine and Music.
The Advisory Board was held on September 30th
. The agenda of the meeting included:
· present the events planned for 2013-2014;
· analyze ETRC daily work and availability of its resources,
· share plans for Fall School 2013 and participants’ wishes,
· report about ETRC summer events: summer school, excursion, photo contest
· report about the collaboration with the administration of the university and discuss the
establishment of META organization
· etc.
