Notas do Editor

  1. About iKeepSafe:  The Internet Keep Safe Coalition (iKeepSafe) is a private-public partnership of leaders from the Internet industry, the health community, child advocacy organizations, law enforcement, the educational community and policymakers.   iKeepsafe has over 100 Coalition partners including, Governors and First Spouses, State Attorneys General, corporate sponsors, associations and specialists, and business partners.
  2. iKeepSafe's Mission:iKeepSafe’s vision is to have generations of children grow up safely using connected technologies.  With this mission, iKeepSafe tracks global trends and issues surrounding Internet-enabled products, and develops positive, forward-looking resources to teach the safe and healthy use of connected technology.  iKeepSafe connects policy leaders and Coalition members to create customized community initiatives. We consult with industry and organizations to develop and distribute Internet education materials within their own markets.  We provide a digital library of education content that can be customized and co-branded for distribution by schools, corporations, and government leaders.
  3. Cell-Safe KidsCell-Safe Kids is a multi-partner collaborative effort to reduce cell phone/Internet victimization of 4th–6thgrade students in five school districts in Monroe County, New York. This intervention strategy design was based on Rochester Institute of Technology research and analysis of student cell phone abuse that will be used to create educational objectives by media experts from Harvard’s Center on Media and Child Health (CMCH). CMCH and iKeepSafe will then produce educational curricula for cell phone abuse intervention to be delivered back to the students via Woogi World with pre/post testing to measure effectiveness. Five school districts will participate in this innovative project and the associated teachers will receive professional development in cell phone/Internet safety and online/virtual education. Parent training and community outreach are incorporated into the project, as well as Strategic Planning for project distribution to other communities.iKeepSafe will work with Contemporary Productions, LLC (Q2, 2010) to develop the strategic launch and distribution model for the national roll out of Cell-Safe Kids.
  4. iKeepSafe partnership with Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and the SuzanneMubarak Women’s International Peace Movement (SMWIPM) as part of their Cyber Peace Initiative(CPI) – (http://www.smwipm.cyberpeaceinitiative.org). iKeepSafe translates and localizes all iKeepSafe videos and tutorials and make them available on the first Internet safety portal created forthe Arabic world. The portal, designed and developed by UNICEF, will be used by other Arabic speaking countries particularly those connected to Intel’s Classmate PC Project. iKeepSafe activities and potential include:Marsali’s participation at a groundbreaking Internet safety conference in Bahrain (April 2010) hosted by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of the Kingdom of Bahrain in partnership with the Family Online Safety Institute, Distribution of DVDs with resources in Arabic to expand outreach and recognition of the partnership, and Potential development of policy concepts and legislation promoting Internet health and safety in collaboration with CPI.
  5. OVERVIEWAs part of our shared responsibility for best practice surrounding the use of connected technology,iKeepSafe will establish a Policy Advisory Committee to help Attorneys General (AGs) create relevantresources to proactively address the Internet concerns they face in the ever-changing landscape of thedigital world. By invitation only, ten key representatives from industry will serve on the Committee withthe goalto give all AGs incentive by providing them with relevant and current resources, and by recognizing those AGs who exemplify best practice.
  6. .) The teams will develop the content for their respective stakeholder group, according to the following incident components: Pre-incident: Prepare for an incidentby (1) developing policy, (2) implementing prevention/intervention programs, and (3) establishing specific protocol for incident management.
