1. Rules and

2. Play Area
• Indoor and outdoor courts both are 18m x 9mi. Indoor courts contain
an attack area formatted by a line 3m back from the center line.
Net Height
• Height for men or co-ed is 7' 11 5/8“ and for women net height is 7' 4 1/8“.

3. The Game!
• There is a max of 3 hits per side.
• One player can’t hit the ball more than once in a session however, a
block is not considered a hit therefore after a block fails you can dig
it out of the net.
• Ball can be played off net.
• If a ball hits a boundary line it is considered in.
• If 2 or more players hit the ball together it is considered one play and
the players can’t take part in the next play.
• Switching positions is allowed only if it is done by front line players.

4. • Rally scoring is mostly used.
• A point is scored on every play
• Offense scores from a defense miss or an out of bound hit.
• Defense can score from an offense miss, serve into the net, or out an
out of bound hit.
• The game goes to 25 points and you must win by 2.
5. Serving!
• The server has to serve from behind the serve line which is the end line.
• The ball has to be clearly visible to the opponents before the serve.
• Ball can either be served underhand or overhand.
• A served ball can graze the top of the net and land on the other side.
• You cannot block a serve.

6. Rotation!
• Each time a team wins a serve there is a rotation.
• Rotation is done in a clockwise method.
• There is 4 to 6 players on each side.

7. • Stepping on/over the line on a serve.
• Not serving the ball over the net.
• Carrying, palming, throwing the ball.
• Touching the net with any part of the body while the ball is in play.
• Reaching over the net unless it’s to execute a follow-through or
blocking the ball when its being passed over.
• Reaching under the net.
• Not serving in the correct order.
• If a back row player (player behind the 10ft line) blocks or attacks the
ball while being in front of the 10ft line.

• When the team that served the ball makes a
mistake making it the other teams ball.

• When a player jumps over the height of the
net and successfully blocks the ball.
12. STUFF
• When a player blocks the ball and the ball
goes back to the player that attacked the ball.
