You will need to acquire a
Domain Name
A domain name is also
called a Web address.
These names appear as a
component of a Web site's
URL, e.g.
www.yahoo.com is a
domain name.
4. Domain Name
Network Solutions, a web hosting
service, was the first domain name
registration service established in
1993.

Now, there are now many domain
name registrars to choose from.
Most Web hosts provide the service
to purchase a domain name or are
registrars themselves.
5. 2 - Web Hosting
You will need to acquire a Web
Hosting Service.
Usually a monthly fee, but can pay
yearly for price breaks.

is one of the least
expensive hosting
services.
6. Web Hosting
When you sign up for Web space, you
determine:
Your Domain Name
Your username
Your password
You will use these three things to FTP
your files to the Web host.
7. 3 - Uploading and FTP
You will upload your local
site to your Web Host using
the File Transfer Protocol
(FTP).
There are many free FTP
programs out there, and
some Web development
software programs have
their own built in FTP
uploading your Web site.
