Pop Up Book & Playaway training How to use Pop up books and Playaways properly!
Pop Up Books are: Interactive books with 3-D pictures and movable parts. Very entertaining and a different way to read books. Delicate and easy to tear. A privilege to check out! Expensive to purchase (average price $25.00).
Pop Up Book care Do not share your pop up book with anyone other than your parents! Open them very carefully with two hands. Turn the pages slowly. Manipulate any movable parts slowly and with extreme care! Put any removable parts back in its right place before moving on to the next page.
Pop UP Book care Store PUBs in a safe place when finished. (Backpacks are the best place.) Do not allow baby brothers, sisters, cousins, or pets to play with PUBs. Do not leave your PUB at home! Return them on time or you will not be allowed to check out anything until you return it.
Reading Pop Up Books Some PUBs are text heavy! The first night (maybe 2 nights) take time to explore the book. Look at the 3-D pictures, pull out tabs, and movable parts of the book. Scan the text to see how much there will be to read. On the second or third night start reading your book. Read the information on each page and on the pull out tabs as well. Go back and reread anything you do not understand.
PUB check out procedures PUBs must be returned on time! If they are lost you must pay for them. Check out privileges will be suspended until the book is paid for or found. You can not check out a PUB and a Playaway at the same time. We will draw a name each week from each class
Pop Up Books are housed at the end of the chapter book section, right next to the Kennedy K’s cart.
