From the library page: http://www.lib.uct.ac.za/ From ‘Search & Find ’ choose ‘Databases’
From the Databases page choose “Scopus”
• Select the “Author Search” tab • Type surname in “Last Name” box • Type first initial in the “Initials” box • Type in the affiliation, i.e. University of Cape Town • Click Search
• Tick the relevant boxes • Click on “View Citation Overview”
• View “Author h Index”
• You can also “request to merge authors” so that all publications appear together. • Once Elsevier has merged the authors in this instance 161+3=164 articles will appear together instead of in two separate sections.

Locate Your H-Index in Scopus in Under 5 Steps

  • 2. From the library page: http://www.lib.uct.ac.za/ From ‘Search & Find ’ choose ‘Databases’
  • 3. From the Databases page choose “Scopus”
  • 4. • Select the “Author Search” tab • Type surname in “Last Name” box • Type first initial in the “Initials” box • Type in the affiliation, i.e. University of Cape Town • Click Search
  • 5. • Tick the relevant boxes • Click on “View Citation Overview”
  • 6. • View “Author h Index”
  • 7. • You can also “request to merge authors” so that all publications appear together. • Once Elsevier has merged the authors in this instance 161+3=164 articles will appear together instead of in two separate sections.
