3. Long-Range for Technology
2006-2020
The Texas Education Code, Section 32.001, requires
the State Board of Education to develop a long-range
plan for technology. Texas led the nation with the first
Long-Range for Technology, 1988-2000 adopted by
the Board In November 1988.

4. Our Contribution
The goal in teaching and learning must be to
empower young citizens to live and learn in a
continuously changing 21st Century
environment and to enable this citizenry to
effectively interact in a global marketplace.

All campuses are required to submit STaR
CHART Data to measure yearly progress.
 KEY AREAS to be scored:  The stages of progress are:
 I. Teaching and Learning  Early Tech, Developing Tech,
Advanced Tech, and Target Tech
 II. Educator Preparation  Texas’ highest score according to

8. How Can We Hit the TARGET?
 Incorporate the use of our computer labs as much
as possible when planning lessons.
 Seek help from our on-campus technology
support staff as well as our district tech support
staff.

classroom.
