3. What is an ePortfolio??
When most people hear „ePortfolio‟ they think
„resume‟ and that‟s it.
An ePortfolio can be much more than a simple
resume. While it can contain your resume or CV, it
can be used for Creating, Collating, Curating,
Collaborating and Reflecting on anything that
you‟ve ever written, drawn, photographed, recorded
or created.
The ePortfolio effectively becomes a personal
learning environment that is an ongoing record of
your educational, academic and professional
journey, to be continuously added to, built upon,
and to evolve with you.
4. What types of ePortfolios are there?
There are three major types (which may be known by
alternate names):
Developmental
[archive/comprehensive/learning/personal/reflective]
Assessment
[course/learning]
Showcase
[professional/career/internship]
Most ePortfolios are hybrids of these three types.

8. How can I use an ePortfolio?
Picture the following scenarios:
You have are up for an academic promotion, you have a
lot of evidence, in lots of different locations, of how you
have met certain standards. Do you hand in a large
folder?
You have some excellent podcasts that you want to be
able to share along with some supporting information. Do
you share them via email? Dropbox? Google Drive?
SkyDrive?
You have created a new course and want to be able to
add your own reflections and changes. You also want to
be able to use them as evidence towards your academic
promotion.
