Background
Fuji Xerox is a joint-venture between Fujifilm
Holdings Corporation and Xerox Limited.
Whilst the corporate headquarters are
in Tokyo, the Asia Pacific operations are
hubbed out in Singapore.
Providing an end-to-end range of printing
hardware, consumables and accessories to
address heavy duty document solutions, Fuji
Xerox has helped organizations across all
industries achieve increased productivity and
efficiency at reduced costs.
The Challenge
With operations in over 12 countries across
Asia Pacific including Singapore, Malaysia,
Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Hong Kong,
Thailand and Australia, Fuji Xerox was
expanding its business rapidly, which whilst
desirable it was creating challenges within
the company’s finance operations including
Accounts Payables, Receivables and Expense
Claims processing.
Specifically, offices in the different
operating countries were implementing
bespoke localized processes with limited
standardization, resulting in a mixture of
approval processes and under-utilization of
the regional ERP system.
The result was a lack of visibility of the
regional spending, in turn preventing the
consolidation of purchasing power. In-
country finance departments were making
payments independent of each other,
making it difficult to reconcile intercompany
balances.
Compounding these challenges, invoices
were being processed and approved
manually in hard copies, which was time-
consuming, unproductive, and difficult to
control.
In a bid to address this challenge, enhance
productivity and eliminate cost the decision
was made to outsource the backend finance
and administration processes. With more
than 20,000 invoices and 8,000 expense
claims to be processed monthly across the
region, Fuji Xerox decided to outsource its
regional finance operations through its own
services.
