Looking for an inspiring work placement opportunity that will allow me to use and further
develop my criminological and psychological skills, use my strong communication and give

Second year Criminology with Psychology student at the University of Portsmouth
Interests: Lifesaving; cycling; IRB (Inshore Rescue Boat racing; running and spending
time with family and friends.

2. Achievements
Prefect at secondary school. Represented my school at events and carried out
weekly duties.
Represent my voluntary lifesaving club, Bournemouth Lifeguard Corps at both
national lifesaving and IRB Championships, winning medals for several years running.
Work Experience
RNLI Beach Lifeguard (Bournemouth and Poole)
Daily duties include: setting up the beach depending on the conditions, advising
beach users, patrolling and dealing with minor/ major first aid incidents.
Monthly fitness tests: Swimming 400m in less than 7 and a half minutes, swimming
25m underwater and 25m back on top of the water in less than 50 seconds. 200m
beach sprint in less than 40 seconds.
Dealt with various incidents including dealing with a women having a seizure and
another who got into difficulty in the water
The job overall has been a brilliant experience, where I have gained some great
knowledge and skills.

Work Experience Placement
Surf Steps: My duties included setting up facilities for the day, cleaning equipment
and changing rooms. In the afternoons I also helped instructors with lessons.
Environmental Health Department at Bournemouth Borough Council: Surveyed the
cleanliness of properties and businesses. I also had the opportunity to sit in on a
court hearing.
