2. PDHPE gives students the knowledge and understanding, skills and values and attitudes necessary to lead healthy, fulfilling lives. PDHPE gives students the necessary tools to adopt a responsible and productive role in society.

3. Personal Development and Health This includes the theory part of PDHPE. Students learn about 4 core areas. Interpersonal relationships, Growth and development, Safe Living and Personal Health choices. These are necessary so students are equipped with the knowledge to make correct, safe and informed decisions relating to health.

4. & Physical activity This strand of PDHPE is the practical strand. In Primary schools, this includes warm-ups and games that get raise the heart rate and get the students moving. This is important, especially in today’s society where childhood obesity is a growing issue.
