1. Crazy for Cake Balls
Cake Balls makes 50 cake balls
Ingredients: 1 box of cake mix (any flavor)
1 tub of 16 oz icing (any flavor)
Candy or chocolate coating
1. Make the cake according to the direction on the box.
When cooled, crumble into a large bowl.
2. Add the tub of icing and mix until it is a smooth consistency.
3. Roll into balls (using a cookie scoop can help)
4. Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour, then dip into the
melted coating.
1 cake makes 50 cake balls.
Tips and Tricks
*You can bake your own cake from scratch, or you can use a
cake from the bakery.
*1 cupcake can make 2-3 cake balls.
*1 Twinkie makes two cake balls.
*Top with nuts, sprinkles, or a second color of candy/chocolate
coating.
*If you are using a store bought cake or cupcake, chances are
there is too much icing on it for the cake ball to turn out. Scrape
off 1/3 to 1/2 of the icing.
Cake Pops
Cake Pops are made the very same way as cake balls. .. until it comes time to put it in
the refrigerator to chill. After you roll the balls, dip your sucker stick (available at
most craft stores) into a small portion of melted coating, then press into the ball before
refrigerating.
