3. Question One: Are you a music fan?
You wouldn’t think it, but not a lot of people like music. The majority of
people do, but those that don’t tend to be people of an older generation.
This magazine is not intended for those people.
4. Question Two: Are you a fan of Hip Hop/Rap?
Hip-Hop, throughout the years, has became a titan of the music industry.
It’s hard not to catch onto such a contagiously artistic movement.
Naturally, this sort of environment is ripe with opportunities for articles;
this part of the industry is no stranger to controversy and scandal.
5. Question Three: Were you aware of Rap
Battle, and its popularity in the UK?
Though the majority of my surveyed audience said yes, there is still a
large proportion of not just my survey but the country that aren’t aware
of how big a movement Rap Battle is in the UK. This provides a huge
gap in the market that is begging to be filled.
6. Question Four: If yes, are you well
versed in Rap Battle in general?
This chart basically shows that though a lot of people know what Rap
Battle is, not a lot of people know about it. A magazine about Battle Rap
would fill this gap and get a lot more people involved in the culture.
7. Question Five: Do you think Rap Battle
would make for good magazine stories?
To the people that are well aware of Battle Rap, and even to the people
who aren’t, Battle Rap is a competitive sport compared to a hobby; and
like competitive sports, Battle Rap would make for great writing.
8. Question Six: Do you use much digital
technology/read many digital magazines?
Technology has made its way into the lives of billions. It’s now easier
than ever – and cheaper – to digitally distribute news and publish things
to people.
9. Question Seven: Do you frequently use YouTube?
It’s 2015. Only technological introverts and old people don’t use
YouTube, and those aren’t the people I’m going to be aiming my
magazine toward.
10. Question Eight: If yes, are you
well versed in YouTube
‘celebrities’?
YouTube is full of famous personalities, characters, channels and
independent media teams. Those people who aren’t aware create a gap
in the market, since it gives me the opportunity to increase awareness
for people who are interested in new things.
11. Question Nine: Do you
enjoy music festivals?
Since it’s 2015, not a lot of people like to actually go to music festivals as
much as they like to read about them and watch livestreams of them on
the internet from the comfort of their homes. Gone are the 60’s and the
days of Woodstock; people like to see things through a screen.
12. Question Ten: Do you enjoy
learning about new cultures?
Now, since the internet has came around and people now have
unlimited access to such vast ranges of information, people are generally
a lot more open to new things. This will play greatly in my advantage.
