Marvin the Martian Revises Earth Destruction
Estimate to $104.3 Trillion
Insured Losses of $5.0-7.5 Trillion
MARS – January 16, 2011 – Marvin the Martian (Marvin)
today announced that he has updated his estimate for
onshore and offshore Earth losses from the Illudium PU-36
Explosive Space Modulator (PU-36) to $104.3 Trillion, of
which $5.0-7.5 trillion is estimated for insured losses.
While the new modeling technology better represents the
losses expected from PU-36, the insured range of $5.0-7.5
trillion reflects the significant uncertainty that still remains
in assessing insured losses.
The new range of insured losses would most likely make
Earth’s destruction the costliest world catastrophe of all
time.
Marvin will continue to monitor the impacts of PU-36 and
may provide further estimates if significant new
information arises.
