Title : Development of Mathematical Model to Predict Cutting Tool Life In Turning
Using Response Surface Methodology.
Software used : Minitab 17.
Internship : Central Institute of Tool Design, Hyderabad.
Description : Design of experiments has been used to study of the effect of the machining
parameters such as cutting speed, feed and depth of cut on the tool life in turning process. A Mathematical
model of the tool life has developed in terms of machining parameters. The Effect of these parameters on
the tool life has investigated by using Response Surface Methodology. Response Surface contours were
constructed for determining the optimum condition for a required tool life. The experiment is carried out
and the data to check the validity of the developed model that predicts the tool life by using Mini tab
software.
