2. I found myself using the internet as a base
platform to access a range of sources that
enabled me to research theories, certain
sources and look into specific conventions for
all three of my media texts.
It helped me gain information and therefore
knowledge about the three texts I was
planning to make. Local magazine websites
were one of the many websites I used.
The software of PDF adobe reader
enabled me to view a range of magazines
that wouldn't have been available to me
in the flesh. By having this access it
enabled my knowledge of conventions
and what my target audience would
expect from a local magazine.
Slideshare a website available to the public was
something I found myself using to develop
and gain new knowledge of conventions and
theories/theorists. I also used slideshare to
upload my own powerpoints which contained
important information to my texts.
Tumblr was a prominent media
technology I used throughout
all the stages, in terms of
research and planning it enabled
me to not only gather all my
research together and display
my final plans for my three
texts.
Powerpoint was
something I used to
gather important
information I had gained
through the research but
it also enabled me to add
notes to my first and final
plans, this gave them
more detailed
information about the
use of conventions etc.

3. The internet although played a part in my
construction and evaluation stages it wasn’t
as visible in use as other stages. It again
enabled me to reach a range of platforms
in terms of websites.
Microsoft word enabled me to create two out of
three texts for my coursework, I could work
within my own skills but also develop and gain
new skills too. For example I learnt how to create
logos through this software and this is how my
local pride logo came to life.
Twitter/Facebook enabled me to reach a
wider range of my target audience and
get feedback from them in terms of the
evaluation stage. But within the
construction stage I found myself asking
my target audience for their own
opinions on my developing texts, this
enabled me to produce a text fully
suitable for my target audience.
My BlackBerry camera to
my surprise enabled me
to take professional
quality photos for my for
my front cover, contents
page and billboard poster. Photoshop I used to
tweek my photos
taken from my
BlackBerry, I used the
software to lighten
and crop the photos
to make them as
enticing as possible.
Tumblr enabled me to document my
construction and evaluation , the platform
site of tumblr enabled me to document those
stages through different mediums, like
picture and text.
