The Regional News picked up the story of the American Sewing Guild Chicago Chapter's efforts to collect prom dresses and accessories for the Glass Slipper Project. The American Sewing Guild Chicago Chapter is also showcasing their sewing skills by making plus-sized dresses and handbags for the Glass Slipper Project 2011 boutiques. The Glass Slipper Project is dependent on the donations of gently-used dresses to outfit nearly 2,000 girls every year for their prom. However, there is always a shortage of dresses for the larger-sized young lady. The American Sewing Guild is sewing prom dresses to fill this need. This is the second year that the American Sewing Guild Chicago chapter has supported the Glass Slipper Project. The Glass Slipper Project is one of the many community service projects that the American Sewing Guild Chicago chapter supports.
