Introduction:
      Emotional Intelligence
 is the ability to
 sense, understand and
 effectively apply the power
 and acumen of emotions as
 a source of human
 energy, Information and
 influence of others.
Conceptual Background of Emotional Intelligence:
 In the early part of 20th
  century psychologist started
  studying intelligence to
  explain individual
  difference in order to
  facilitate and training
  school system.
 Emotional intelligence has
its roots in the concept of
  “social intelligence” first
  identified by thornidike in
  1920. Who defined as social
  intelligence as the ability to
  understand and manage
people and to act wisely in
  human relations.
History:
 1985- Wayne Lean Payne-
the term first used in his
  doctoral theses.
 1990- Mayer and Salovey-
  two test form measuring
  Emotional Intelligence.
 1995 and 1998- Daniel
                                  John Mayer
  Goleman – published
  Emotional Intelligence.
 Peter solvey and john mayer
  coined the term emotional
  intelligence in 1990. But it
  gained popularity after the
  publication of Daniel
  goleman’s book “Emotional
  Intelligence”. Peter Solvay
Nature of Emotion:
 The word “emotion” is derived
    from the Latin word “emover”
    which means the spirit that
moves us. That energy is the
    transmitter and recorder of all
    feelings, thoughts and actions.
 Emotional Pattern’s: Both
    positive and negative
    emotions are present in an
    individual they are;
 Fear
 Anger
 Jealousy
 Worry
 Frustration
 Affection and Happiness
Concept of Emotional intelligence:
 Emotional Intelligence is a type
  of social intelligence which
  involves the capacity of
  recognizing our feelings and
  those of others for motivating
  ourselves and for managing
emotions well in ourselves and in
  our relationships.
 According to Goleman an
  individuals success at work is
  80% dependent on emotional
  intelligence and only 20%
  dependent on IQ.
 Salovey and Mayer suggested a
  four dimentionsional model of
  emotional intelligence as follows;
 Emotional perception
 Emotional facilitation
 Emotional Understanding
 Emotional management
Meaning:
      Emotional intelligence
is the ability to use our
emotions, to help us to solve
 problems and live a more
 effective life. Emotional
 Intelligence without
 intelligence or intelligence
 without emotional
intelligence is only a part of
 solution, which is the head
 working without heart.
Definitions:
 Mayer and Salovey (1990):
       Emotional intelligence
  is the ability to monitor
  one’s own and other’s
  feeling’s and emotions, to
  discriminate among them,
  and use this information to
  guide one’s own thinking
  and action’s.
 Daniel      Goleman(1995):
       Emotional Intelligence
  as an ability that includes
  self awareness, impulse
  control, persistence, zeal,
  self motivation, empathy
  and social adeptness.
Theory:
      Daniel Goleman
 suggests five major parts of
 Emotional Intelligence

 Knowing our own Emotions:
                                Daniel Goleman
 Managing our own

 Motivating ourselves:

 Teacher plays an very
  important role in school to
  identify the emotional
  abilities of students and
  guide them in proper
  channel to get use of
  emotional intelligence in
  their life.
 We teacher’s can only guide
  them and train
  them, emotional
