1. Annapurna circuit trek is the world-class journey in Marsyangdi and Kali Gandaki Valley to cross
Thorung La (5416 m) pass. It is a popular round trail in Nepal, begins at Bhulbhule (840 m) after 7 hours
bus trip from Kathmandu. Manang and Mustang Valley are superb with Trans-Himalaya settlements and
panoramic views of mountain, including Manaslu (8163 m), Annapurna I (8091 m) and Dhaulagiri (8167
m). Deepest Valley, Kali Gandaki with hot spring pool (40° Celsius) at Tatopani (1190 m) is remarkable. It
is 211 km (131 miles) long trail. It takes 18 days that links the two valleys. September to November and
March to May is hiking season. Friendly Bhotia people, their Buddhist culture and mountain scenery are
noticeable.
Annapurna circuit trek starts at Dumre (445 m) between Kathmandu-Pokhara highway and continue via
Besisahar (820 m), Manang, Thorung La (5416 m), Jomsom, Tatopani, Ghorepani, Nayapul and Pokhara,
and return at Dumre and Kathmandu. It calls round trek. Tea house and camping trek are possible. One
day nine hours hiking from Phedi (4450 m) to Muktinath (3800 m) via Thorung La (5416 m) is strenuous.
Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Kali Gandaki Valley and Annapurna scenery are superb. After 12 days, visitors will
arrive Jomsom after they can fly back to Pokhara or keep continue to Nayapul. Taste apple brandy and
apple pie, bath at hot spring pool and interact with Thakali and Magar people.
Annapurna circuit trek is an opportunity to reach highest Lake Tilicho (4919 m). Take a side trip from
Manang that takes 3 days extra. Yak, nak, snow leopard and blue sheep are recorded in Manang and
Mustang Valley. Tibetan culture, polyandry marriage, ancient monasteries, Ice Lake and photographs of
snow clad peaks will be memory rest of the life. Fair weather roads are built Beni to Muktinath and
Besisahar to Manang. Trip become short. It is popular trekking route, however, offers adventure.
