3. WHAT IS AI?
•Artificial Intelligence is a branch of Science which deals
with helping machines and finds solutions to complex
problems in a more human-like fashion.
•Artificial Intelligence can help us understand this
process by recreating it, then potentially enabling us to
enhance it beyond our current capabilities

5. SPEECH RECOGNITION
WHAT IS SPEECH RECOGNITION?
A speech recognition system is a type of software
that allows the user to have their spoken words
converted into written text in a computer
application such as a word processor
or spreadsheet. The computer can also be
controlled by the use of spoken commands.

6. The user speaks to the computer through a
microphone, which in turn, identifies the meaning of the
words and sends it to NLP device for further processing. Once
recognized, the words can be used in a variety of applications
like display, robotics,commands to computers, and
dictation.

vectors, X = {x1,x2,…,xT }, by the feature analysis block (also denoted spectral
analysis)

into a symbolic representation that is the maximum likelihood

lexicon to provide the acoustic match score for each proposed string.
• Also, an N-gram language model is used to compute a language model
score for each proposed word string. Final block is verification block.

voice recognition.

technology.

One of the main benefits of speech recognition system is that it
lets user do other works simultaneously. The user can
concentrate on observation and manual operations, and still
control the machinery by voice input commands.
Another major application of speech processing is in
military operations. Voice control of weapons is an example.
With reliable speech recognition equipment, pilots can give
commands and information to the computers by simply
speaking into their microphones - they don’t have to use their
hands for this purpose.
