Identify common colors to use for selection
Exclude colors if necessary
Magic Wand tool
Tolerance: to specify whether similar pixels are included
Anti-aliased checkbox: to soften appearance of
selection
Contiguous checkbox: to select pixels that are next to
one another
Sample All Layers checkbox: select pixels from all layers

Vignette Effect: uses feathering to fade from a
marquee, blurring surrounding area
1. Create marquee (marquee or lasso tool)
2. Modify feather setting (increase blur)
