Celebrated on March 17th
On this day in 461 A.D., Saint Patrick, dies at
Saul, Downpatrick, Ireland.
Who is Saint Patrick?
Christian missionary, bishop and apostle of Ireland
Captured and enslaved at age 16 by Irish
marauders
Had dream, in which an individual named
Victoricus gave him a letter, entitled "The Voice of
the Irish." As he read it, Patrick seemed to hear the
voices of Irishmen pleading him to return to their
country and walk among them once more

Said to have baptized hundreds of people on a
single day, and to have used a three-leaf clover--
the famous shamrock--to describe the Holy Trinity
In art, he is often portrayed trampling on
snakes, in accordance with the belief that he
drove those reptiles out of Ireland – this is
thought to represent
St Patrick’s ridding Ireland of the
druids.
For thousands of years, the Irish have
observed the day of Saint Patrick's death
as a religious holiday

9. History of April Fools Day
On April 1st 1700 English pranksters begin
popularizing the annual tradition of April Fools
Day by playing practical jokes on each other.
Its exact origin remain a mystery
Historian’s speculate
1582 when France switched from the Julian
calendar to the Gregorian calendar, people who
were slow to get the news or failed to recognize that
the start of the new year had moved to January
1st, and continued to celebrate it during the last
week of March through April 1st became the butt of
jokes and hoaxes.
