● Lockdowns -> Impeded traditional ways of doing business
● Operations had to be completed with minimum staff
● Staff remote access to Banking System
● Customers could not engage with banks in the usual ways
● Increased usage of Internet and Mobile Banking
● Not all banking operations are automated or digitized
● Customers demands and expectations were to do all operations
online

● These were driven by regulations and competition
● Digitisation vs Digital Transformation
● Banks that thrived within the pandemic were the ones that were able to quickly
cater to customer demands
