Using what revise the sentences Remove instan.docx

  1. Directions: Using what you’ve learned, revise the sentences below. Remove instan Directions: Using what you’ve learned, revise the sentences below. Remove instances of first and second person, but keep the same meaning. Two examples are done for you below.Example: For the most part, I do agree with Rosenbaum’s argument. I think that people in the United States often hide behind free speech and use it as an excuse to verbally abuse others. I do think that ultimately, it would be difficult to prosecute cases that involve emotional assaults.Revision: Rosenbaum makes a sound point that people in the United States often hide behind free speech and use it as an excuse to verbally abuse others. However, it would be difficult to prosecute cases that involve emotional assaults.Example: You cannot dictate what people say, granted words can be hurtful, no person has the right to tell another person how to speak. You cannot invalidate the way someone feels or thinks about something.Revision: No one should be able to dictate what others say. Words can be hurtful, but no person has the right to tell another person how to speak. The way someone feels or thinks about something cannot be invalidated on principle.Personally, I find the suggestions of harsher free speech laws to be both unconstitutional, and unhealthy for the future of society.I do not agree with Rosenbaum’s argument that free speech is too free within the United States. I think that America in general is a place that people from all over the world come to in order to express what they feel is right and what they believe in.Living in a place where you’re not allowed to speak your mind is like living in a prison, trapped from your personal liberties, isolated from your own thoughts to fit someone else’s agenda. In my opinion I agree with the point he is trying to make with hate speech and how they could affect someone mentally. Honestly nowadays you can get canceled for saying anything with hate speech and also fired.I also understand the effect of the university’s studies and the reference to the traffic laws. However, people are always going to be devious. I mean, look me in the eye and tell me that you don’t go 40 in a 35, or 75 on the highway in the middle lane. A cop isn’t gonna pull you over for going 5 over the speed limit, and people know that, which is why they do it.Even if we have free speech, I still think it isn’t right to spit hateful comments to each other because it’s hateful because I thought free speech meant if you dislike what your government is doing you could have a say into what your government is doing.
