kick-start the new year!
What to Drink in 2015
2. Ingredients
2 small scoops blood orange sorbet (or flavor
of your choosing)
About 4 oz. of prosecco
Mint sprig
Method
1. Using a melon baller, scoop the sorbet into
a champagne flute.
2. Top with prosecco, pouring slowly. Stir.
3. Garnish with a mint sprig.
Sunset Prosecco Float
3. Ingredients
4 shots orange liqueur
4 fresh strawberries
4 teaspoons honey
1 bottle Champagne
Method
Add the orange-flavored liqueur, honey and
strawberries to a food processor and process
until smooth. Fill the chilled glasses halfway
with the strawberry mixture and then fill the
rest of the glass with Champagne.
Grand Champagne
Cocktail
4. Ingredients
2 oz gin
1 oz lemon juice
1 tsp fine sugar
3 oz club soda
1 maraschino cherry
1 sliced orange
Method
In a shaker half-filled with ice cubes, combine
the gin, lemon juice, and sugar. Shake well.
Strain into a collins glass almost filled with ice
cubes. Add the club soda. Stir and garnish
with the cherry and the orange slice.
Tom Collins
5. Ingredients
10 fresh mint leaves
1/2 lime, cut into 4 wedges
2 tablespoons white sugar, or to taste
1 cup ice cubes
1 1/2 fluid ounces white rum
1/2 cup club soda
Method
Place mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into a sturdy
glass. Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime to
release the mint oils and lime juice. Add 2 more
lime wedges and the sugar, and muddle again to
release the lime juice. Do not strain the mixture.
Fill the glass almost to the top with ice. Pour the
rum over the ice, and fill the glass with carbonated
water. Stir, taste, and add more sugar if desired.
Garnish with the remaining lime wedge.
