Publishing House
Decision
After looking back over my publishing house research I have decided that my magazine would be best for
publishing with IPC Media because:
- This is the publishing house that work with NME, and although my magazine fits a similar genre I believe
that my magazine is aimed at a younger audience whereas NME is aimed more at adults. Therefore my
magazine could benefit IPC because it would be like an NME for a younger audience as it reaches the niche
audience that not all other magazines do.
- This company publishes some of the biggest magazines that are on sale, therefore they have lots of
experience with marketing and would know how to make my magazine stand out and become successful.
There is also a market gap in IPC for a magazine for younger audiences as they publish magazines such as:
(Aimed at older
people/soap fans)
(Aimed at middle
aged
women/housewives)
(Aimed at adult
women)
(Aimed at
younger women)
Not only is there a market gap for younger people, but IPC also lack publications aimed at a male audience
so my magazine would target a huge audience that IPC are missing out on.
