2.  In 1959, Frederick Herzberg, a behavioral scientist
proposed a two-factor theory or the motivator-
hygiene theory. According to Herzberg, there are
some job factors that result in satisfaction while
there are other job factors that prevent
dissatisfaction. According to Herzberg, the
opposite of “Satisfaction” is “No satisfaction” and
the opposite of “Dissatisfaction” is “No
Dissatisfaction

3. The two-factor theory (also known as Herzberg's
motivation-hygiene theory and dual-factor theory)
states that there are certain factors in
the workplace that cause job satisfaction, while a
separate set of factors cause dissatisfaction.
The two-factor theory developed from data collected by
Herzberg from interviews with
203 engineers and accountants in the Pittsburgh area,
chosen because of their professions' growing importance
in the business world

that is, they contribute very little to job dissatisfaction.
