Leadership!!!
The true measure of leadership is influence. The
principles of leadership are constant. Leadership principles are
unchanging and stand the test of time.
No matter where you are in the leadership process, know
this: “The greater the number of laws you learn, the better
leader you will become.”
Value of Leadership
The leadership ability is the lid that determines a person’s
level of effectiveness.
“The lower an individual’s ability to lead, the lower
the lid on his potential”
www.aladesuru-walter-adewale.strikingly.com
Success without leadership ability brings only limited
effectiveness. Without leadership ability, a person’s impact is
only a fraction of what it could be with good leadership.
The higher you want to climb, the more you need
leadership. The greater the impact you want to make, the greater
your influence needs to be.
Whatever you will accomplish is restricted by your ability
to lead others.
True Measure of Leadership
One of the most effective leaders of the late twenties
century was anything but impressive upon first appearance. If
you don’t have influence, you will never be able to lead others.
“Small Stature – Big Impact!”
NOTE:
“The quintessential, energetic entrepreneur, who has
perceived a need and done something about it, built an
organization against all odds, formulates its constitution and
sent out branches all over the world.”
“Leadership is all about influence – Nothing more,
nothing less.”
Leadership is often misunderstood.
When people hear that someone has an impressive title or
an assigned leadership position, they assume that individual to
be a leader.
Sometimes that’s true. But titles don’t have much value
when it comes to leading.
True leadership cannot be awarded, appointed, or assigned.
It comes only from influence, and that cannot be mandated.
It must be earned.
The only thing a title can buy is a little time – either to
increase your level of influence with others or to undermine it.

MYTHS OF LEADERSHIP
- Management:
A widespread misunderstanding is that leading and
managing are one and the same.
Leadership is all about influencing people to follow, while
management focuses on maintaining systems and processes.
The best way to test whether a person can lead rather than
just manage is to ask him/her to create positive change.
- Entrepreneur:
Entrepreneurs are skilled at seeing opportunities and going
after them. They see needs and understand how to meet them in
a way that produces a profit. But not all of them are good with
people.
- Knowledge:
“Knowledge is power!” – Sir Francis Bacon
If you believe power to be the essence of leadership, then
you might naturally assume that those who possess knowledge
and intelligence are therefore leaders.
Neither IQ nor Education necessarily equals to leadership.
- Position:
People think leadership is based on position, but it’s not.
“It’s not the position that makes the leader; it’s the leader that
makes the position.” – Stanley Huffy
When it comes to identifying a real leader, that task can be
much easier.
- Don’t listen to the claims of professing to be the leader.
- Don’t examine his credentials.
- Don’t check his title.
Check his influence.
“The proof of leadership is found in the followers.”
- Pioneer:
Misconception is that anyone who is out in front of the
crowd is a leader. But being first isn’t always the same as
leading.
“To be a leader, a person has to not only be out front, but
also have people intentionally coming behind him, following
his lead, and acting on his vision.”
Being a trendsetter is not the same as being a leader.
www.aladesuru-walter-adewale.strikingly.com
“To me, leadership means being there. So in the days
ahead, let’s be there for each other.” – Aladesuru Adewale
Leadership is ... …;
- “The true measure of leadership is influence” –
Nothing more, nothing less!
www.aladesuru-walter-adewale.strikingly.com
FACTORS THAT MAKE A LEADER:-
1. Character – “Who they are”
The true leadership always begins with the inner person –
depth of his character.
2. Relationship – “Who they Know”
You’re a leader only if you have followers, and that always
requires the development of relationships – “the deeper the
relationships, the stronger the potentials for leadership.”
Note:
- Build enough of the right kinds of relationships with the
right people, and you can become the real leader in an
organization.
3. Knowledge – “What they know”
Information is vital to a leader. You need a grasp of the
facts, an understanding of dynamic factors and timing, and a
vision for the future.
Knowledge alone won’t make someone a leader, but
without knowledge, no one can become one.
4. Intuition – “What they feel”
Leadership requires more than just a command of data. It
demands an ability to deal with numerous intangibles.
Leaders seek to recognize and influence intangible such as
energy, morals, timing, and momentum.
5. Experience – “Where they’ve been”
The greater the challenges you’ve faced as a leader in the
past, the more likely followers are to give you a chance in the
present.
“Experience doesn’t guarantee credibility, but it
encourages people to give you a chance to prove that you are
capable.”
6. Past Success – “What they’ve Done”
Nothing speaks to followers like a good track record.
“Every time I extended myself, took a risk, and succeeded,
followers had another reason to trust my leadership ability –
and to listen to what I had to say.”
7. Ability – “What they can do”
The bottom line for followers is what a leader is capable of
– lead the team to victory.
“Doing homework before I tried to take the lead”
“The very essence of all power to influence lies in getting the
other person to participate.” – Harry A. Overstreet
If you continually invest in your leadership development,
letting your “assets” compound, the inevitable result is growth
over time.
See what a person is doing every day, day after day, and
you’ll know who that person is and what he or she is becoming.
“The ability to lead is really a collection of skills, nearly all
of which can be learned and improved. But that process doesn’t
happen overnight.”
- Becoming a leader is a lot like investing successfully
in the stock market. If your hope is to make a fortune
in a day, you’re not going to be successful.
Leader is complicated.
It has many facets: respect, experience, emotional strength,
people skills, discipline, vision, momentum, and timing – the list
goes on.
Many factors that come into play in leadership are
intangible. That’s why leaders require so much seasoning to be
effective.
www.aladesuru-walter-adewale.strikingly.com
In conclusion,
“Choose the high road, the path to more knowledge
and experience.” – Aladesuru Adewale
On the brighter side, I think most people want to be the best
they can be.
That’s probably one reason you’re reading this right now –
you’ve chosen the high road, the path to more knowledge and
experience.
It’s one of the reason I enjoy giving speeches and teaching
– I can share what I know with people who are really motivated
to know more, to do more, and to improve the quality of their
minds and lives.
It’s a great feeling.
I hope you’ll continue to expand your life every day.
Thanks.
To making life better and to your best of success!!!

No matter where you are in the leadership process, know this: “The greater the number of laws you learn, the better leader you will become.” Value of Leadership The leadership ability is the lid that determines a person’s level of effectiveness. “The lower an individual’s ability to lead, the lower the lid on his potential” www.aladesuru-walter-adewale.strikingly.com
  • 3. Success without leadership ability brings only limited effectiveness. Without leadership ability, a person’s impact is only a fraction of what it could be with good leadership. The higher you want to climb, the more you need leadership. The greater the impact you want to make, the greater your influence needs to be. Whatever you will accomplish is restricted by your ability to lead others. True Measure of Leadership One of the most effective leaders of the late twenties century was anything but impressive upon first appearance. If you don’t have influence, you will never be able to lead others. “Small Stature – Big Impact!”
  • 4. NOTE: “The quintessential, energetic entrepreneur, who has perceived a need and done something about it, built an organization against all odds, formulates its constitution and sent out branches all over the world.” “Leadership is all about influence – Nothing more, nothing less.” Leadership is often misunderstood. When people hear that someone has an impressive title or an assigned leadership position, they assume that individual to be a leader. Sometimes that’s true. But titles don’t have much value when it comes to leading. True leadership cannot be awarded, appointed, or assigned. It comes only from influence, and that cannot be mandated. It must be earned. The only thing a title can buy is a little time – either to increase your level of influence with others or to undermine it. www.aladesuru-walter-adewale.strikingly.com
  • 5. MYTHS OF LEADERSHIP - Management: A widespread misunderstanding is that leading and managing are one and the same. Leadership is all about influencing people to follow, while management focuses on maintaining systems and processes. The best way to test whether a person can lead rather than just manage is to ask him/her to create positive change. - Entrepreneur: Entrepreneurs are skilled at seeing opportunities and going after them. They see needs and understand how to meet them in a way that produces a profit. But not all of them are good with people.
  • 6. - Knowledge: “Knowledge is power!” – Sir Francis Bacon If you believe power to be the essence of leadership, then you might naturally assume that those who possess knowledge and intelligence are therefore leaders. Neither IQ nor Education necessarily equals to leadership. - Position: People think leadership is based on position, but it’s not. “It’s not the position that makes the leader; it’s the leader that makes the position.” – Stanley Huffy When it comes to identifying a real leader, that task can be much easier. - Don’t listen to the claims of professing to be the leader. - Don’t examine his credentials. - Don’t check his title. Check his influence. “The proof of leadership is found in the followers.”
  • 7. - Pioneer: Misconception is that anyone who is out in front of the crowd is a leader. But being first isn’t always the same as leading. “To be a leader, a person has to not only be out front, but also have people intentionally coming behind him, following his lead, and acting on his vision.” Being a trendsetter is not the same as being a leader. www.aladesuru-walter-adewale.strikingly.com
  • 8. “To me, leadership means being there. So in the days ahead, let’s be there for each other.” – Aladesuru Adewale Leadership is ... …; - “The true measure of leadership is influence” – Nothing more, nothing less! www.aladesuru-walter-adewale.strikingly.com
  • 9. FACTORS THAT MAKE A LEADER:- 1. Character – “Who they are” The true leadership always begins with the inner person – depth of his character. 2. Relationship – “Who they Know” You’re a leader only if you have followers, and that always requires the development of relationships – “the deeper the relationships, the stronger the potentials for leadership.” Note: - Build enough of the right kinds of relationships with the right people, and you can become the real leader in an organization. 3. Knowledge – “What they know” Information is vital to a leader. You need a grasp of the facts, an understanding of dynamic factors and timing, and a vision for the future. Knowledge alone won’t make someone a leader, but without knowledge, no one can become one.
  • 10. 4. Intuition – “What they feel” Leadership requires more than just a command of data. It demands an ability to deal with numerous intangibles. Leaders seek to recognize and influence intangible such as energy, morals, timing, and momentum. 5. Experience – “Where they’ve been” The greater the challenges you’ve faced as a leader in the past, the more likely followers are to give you a chance in the present. “Experience doesn’t guarantee credibility, but it encourages people to give you a chance to prove that you are capable.” 6. Past Success – “What they’ve Done” Nothing speaks to followers like a good track record. “Every time I extended myself, took a risk, and succeeded, followers had another reason to trust my leadership ability – and to listen to what I had to say.” 7. Ability – “What they can do” The bottom line for followers is what a leader is capable of – lead the team to victory.
  • 11. “Doing homework before I tried to take the lead”
  • 12. “The very essence of all power to influence lies in getting the other person to participate.” – Harry A. Overstreet If you continually invest in your leadership development, letting your “assets” compound, the inevitable result is growth over time. See what a person is doing every day, day after day, and you’ll know who that person is and what he or she is becoming. “The ability to lead is really a collection of skills, nearly all of which can be learned and improved. But that process doesn’t happen overnight.” - Becoming a leader is a lot like investing successfully in the stock market. If your hope is to make a fortune in a day, you’re not going to be successful. Leader is complicated. It has many facets: respect, experience, emotional strength, people skills, discipline, vision, momentum, and timing – the list goes on. Many factors that come into play in leadership are intangible. That’s why leaders require so much seasoning to be effective. www.aladesuru-walter-adewale.strikingly.com
  • 13. In conclusion, “Choose the high road, the path to more knowledge and experience.” – Aladesuru Adewale On the brighter side, I think most people want to be the best they can be. That’s probably one reason you’re reading this right now – you’ve chosen the high road, the path to more knowledge and experience. It’s one of the reason I enjoy giving speeches and teaching – I can share what I know with people who are really motivated to know more, to do more, and to improve the quality of their minds and lives.
